Professional Qualifications
Like most quilters, I am passionate about quilts and old textiles. I started quilting in 1995. Since that time, I have taken classes, attended national quilt shows, made and collected quilts, and studied about the history and traditions associated with quilting.
My antique quilt collection includes a number of traditional 19th and 20th century quilts. I have a reference library of quilt history, fabric dating, and pattern identification books, and am familiar with internet resources on quilting.
I have taken numerous classes in machine piecing techniques, hand appliqué, and hand quilting. In 2007, I attended quilt appraisal and fabric dating workshops given by Bobbie Aug and Gerald Roy—nationally noted appraisers, collectors, authors and trainers—at the American Quilter's Society convention in Nashville.
My memberships include the American Quilters Society, the American Quilt Study Group, the Baltimore Applique Society, the Southwest New Mexico Quilters Guild, and Silver City's Uncommon Threads.
